Hi,
Americans in the British Sector at the Brandenburg Gate? They must have had special permission from the British. Each sector was controlled and patrolled exclusively by their own forces and the British Sector was tightly policed and patrolled by armed Royal Military Police. I was one in Berlin 1961-1964 and don't recall ever seeing American troops in the British Sector!
Also please note it was 247(Berlin) Pro Coy RMP, not 248 as your web-site gives.

I was stationed with the 287th MP Company in West Berlin from August 1972 to August 1974. I am writing a short biography of that for my grandchildren. I would like to hear from anyone who served with the 287th MP Company during that timeframe. I would also like information concerning 1SG Bourbo, Lt. Thornhill, Captain Christianson, etc. Again, I would appreciate any you may be able to provide.

I notice that all the infantry regiments listed,no mention is made of the Manchester Regiment, who served in Berlin in 1949 and again in 1954 and again after the Manchester Regiment merged with the Kings Regiment in 1962

I searched this site for any comments by QARANCs who had served at The BMH in vain. I was there during 1966 when we moved from the old farm buildings to the new BMH at Dickensweg close to the Olympic Stadium.
Great social life as there were only a few female officers and so we were invited to all formal occasions, in addition, we were very useful to accompany single chaps to the dubious night clubs.
