WAS IN BERLIN 1963.DID THE SPANDAU PRISON GUARD IN SEPTEMBER
WE TOOK OVER FROM THE RUSSIANS.THERE WAS ONLY 5 PRISONERS LEFT AT THAT TIME HESS, DOENITZ, RAEDER,VON SCHIRACH, SPEER. I WAS NOT TOO HAPPY AT THE THOUGHT OF BEING COOPED UP INSIDE THE PRISON AT THE TIME BUT YEARS LATER I REALISED HOW LUCKY I WAS AT BEING PART OF THE STORY OF THE SPANDAU PRISONERS. |

I was there from 11/85 through 07/89, just missed all the excitement. It's still the only city I've ever been homesick for, I loved it there! I'm still not quite sure what happened to the unit after '92. I know most of them were sent to the west and on to Iraq to fight. Have not been back but am planning a trip with my family in 2 years. |

I have enjoyed your site. I was at the 279th Station Hospital, on Unter den Eichen, from 1-56 to 8-58. Berlin and Berliners will always be in my heart. |
