Hi to all who served in what was known as west Berlin. I was there from 81-83 and was statioed at Wavell Bks. Many great Memories and some sad, but Berlin was an exciting place to have been posted to. The only other posting to compare memerable memories would be Hong Kong which I was fortunate to have been posted to in 87. Great to have come accross this forum, bringing back many memories. Fantastic to have come accross some names from the past that I knew. |

Went to Germany from Ft. Riley Kansas in 1962 on Operation Long Thrust IV to re-enforce the Berlin Brigade.
Spent time at Wildflecken, trainig & then motor convoyed to W. Berlin.
My Unit Company A,2nd B.G., 12th Inf. Regiment was stationed at Andrews.
We were there during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
I will never forget my time there & the wonderful citizens of the Divided City. They treated us well.
Anyone from that time frame,or from my old unit please feel free to contact me. |

I am trying to trace my uncle Jimmy/James Fox born in Ireland in 1934 who served in Berlin in the 1950-60's I have one photo of him in uniform with the Berlin insigna on the left hand shoulder with a Shamrock above the Berlin insigna.
If anyone would know what Brigade/Unit this might belong to it might help me narrow my search. I have been trying to trace James for a number of years. Any information would be appreciated. My email townandcountrylandscaping@hotmail.com

I'm looking for anyone associated with the 7350th ABG from 1988-1994. I was part of the aerial port. I've seen veterans pages and some reunions from some of the older generation, but I really miss the people that I was stationed with. |

Plaese can anyone help? My dad was in the 11th Hussars, serving in Germany after WW2. He married my NAAFI girl mum. As a result I was born in the BMH, I believe in Spandau. We left Germany in 1950 and now I like to go back and see where I was born. I know that the original BMH was replaced by a new one in the 60's I think, but I believe it to be in a different place to the original. If anyone can help me to find it I would be very grateful.
Thanks Fred |

I was posted to Berlin from Hamburg in 1959 and left in 1963. my family was with me. We were there when the wall went up. We lived in Hardy weg and had good times in the families pool in the Stadium.I remember exercise Rocking Horse and jeeps with flashing blue lights going around the streets with loud hailers to get the lads out of bed--but not me I was a civvy! I remember also the BRIXMIS 'staff' cars all splashed up the sides with mud. What had they been up to? !!. |
