I too have great memories of Berlin and the Berlin Brigade. I arrived as a new Infantry Leutenant in 1971 and had several Platoon Leader roles in B, C and CSC 4-6 Infantry (was 4-18 when I arrived). I served a tour as the Officer of the Guard at Spandau and remember that Rudy looked a lot like my Grandfather. We had hand picked soldiers and a very special mission which eventually succeeded. Left in late 1974 for Ft Riley Kansas and retired in 1998. Thanks for sharing.

Stationed in Berlin from '80 to '83. FO for 3/6 FIST, C/94th FA. Married a Germany woman in '82 & have been married to her ever since. The time in Berlin was great, although we spent an awfull lot of time in the zone. If the infantry wasn't there the C Battery was. The Artillery wanted the best FO's to go with them & since 3/6 Fist was the best, we got to go too! big grin After reading the guestbook many more memories, training with the British, The Irish Rangers mainly. WOW! what fun we had. happy

Hello everyone, I was just reading most of the guest book and it's so cool that everyone enjoyed Berlin, as I did, but hardly remember any of my friends. Beside working at McNair Barracks I also worked at Clay Headquarters in the EOC (Emergency Operations Center) and let me tell you the calls we received were very interesting. Again I have no regrets and hope to talk a vaction there. If anyone knows me drop me a line.

I was also stationed in West Berlin in 1989, and I enjoyed my tour there which was very interesting, since then I've been interested in WWII history. I was there during the spider glass concert with david bowie, eurythmics, bruce hornsebe, when rudolf hess, died and just caught the begining of the wall coming down.

I was stationed at McNair from 72 to 74 and from 79 to 81. Both times I was in C/94. Those were shining times.

Hi there- Great site! I served in Berlin from 1991 to 1993, stationed at McNair Bks as a FISTER. Great time! Met many wonderful people and drank a few beers. I was a pretty good boxer then and had many wonderful times. I hope all is well with everyone I knew!
