Was working as a civilian at the RTO from 1983 to 1985. Looking for pictures of any of the duty trains, US, UK and French.
Miss the city and its people a lot. Had a great time!! Been back in 1990 and 1994, not the same anymore as I remember. People not as friendly, complete different atmosphere! |

Hello all.Looking at pics of spandau prison being demolished, I think it should have been up to the people of Berlin what happened to it.We all know its past, But surely it could have been put to use ,for the benefit all berliners. it has been a part of Berlins history since befor the third reich. Iwould like to hear what the native berliners think, bye for now. |

| Deep Red I was stationed at Templehoff Air Base from 1965 to 1967..........I was with the 7350th Air police Squadron and also did honor guard duty for all the dignitaries that came to Berlin via Templehoff..........Putting together a scrapbook for my son would appreciate any copies of old photos of Templehoff... |

Hi -- I was in Berlin 1984 - 1986; my ex was Special Forces (PSSE) and I worked at the DRMO at McNair.
Not a day goes by that I do not think of the time I spent in Berlin. I actually got teary-eyed reading everyone's posts.
The other day I got on Google Earth and traced all my "stomping grounds" -- Clayalle, the Grunewald, etc. My husband, son and I are planning a trip to Germany soon and Berlin will definitely be a highlight.

Hello all.in answer to Alan Harvey.type in Wavell Barracks. Spandau, Berlin, Photographs. page 1, half way down,East Anglian Regt, [Pompadours]. few photos of mian gate, and arial view of camp. wavell is on longer used . Spandau council use it for storage. but they will let you walk round, wish i was going with you .sad to see it not in use.have fun mate.Trawl through that site you will find it.bye all |
